The go-to spread when you want to untangle how a situation actually developed. It suits the open-ended worries of love, work, and study — things still unfolding, not yet settled — when you want to know how they arrived here, where they are stuck right now, and where they are heading. If the question is a clear either/or, switch to the Two-Choice spread; if all you want is a yes or a no, the Yes/No spread gets there faster.
Read it as one story along the timeline rather than three separate cards: the past position tells you where this came from; the present position is the force genuinely at work right now; the future position is the trend if nothing changes — a tendency, not a verdict. Once all three are read, force yourself to compress them into a single sentence; if you cannot, you have not read it through. Then glance at the suit spread: when one suit clusters, a single force is dominating the matter.
