The Fool's Journey

The twenty-two Major Arcana can be read as one continuous journey: the Fool, card 0, steps off the cliff's edge and on the road meets teachers, lovers, rivals, and its own shadow, passing through turning wheels, demolition, and rebirth before arriving at the integration of card 21, the World. That thread is a memory frame distilled by modern tarot teaching and one of the most usable interpretive tools you have — when several Major Arcana appear in a reading, laying them out in journey order often shows which station of the journey the present moment has reached.
